About the Officers

President: Cassidy Hihara

Cassidy is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Chemistry at UH Manoa to graduate in Spring 2023. She was admitted into the BAM (4 + 1 year Bachelors and Masters program) where she hopes to graduate in Spring 2024. Currently, she is working as a Lab Assistant and will be pursuing her Masters degree in the Biomass and Fuels Processing Laboratory at Hawai'i Natural Energy Institution (HNEI) where she is focusing on Thermo-biomass conversion. Cassidy is also the team lead for the Payload Team on the Robotic Space Exploration project (RoSE) where they are working on analysis of soil and rock to detect extinct or extant life. She graduated from Hawai'i Baptist Academy in 2019 and studied for one year at the UC Davis before transferring to UH Manoa. Cassidy was initiated into Pi Tau Sigma in Fall 2021. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs and baking.

Vice President: Tyler Maruno

My name is Alexa Young

Tyler is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2023. Tyler is also pursing a minor in Business Administration through the Shidler College of Business and is a part of the BAM program, allowing for the completion of his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering by the Spring of 2024. Tyler graduated from 'Iolani School in 2019 and pledged for Pi Tau Sigma in Fall 2021 where he served as Pledge Master. Aside from Sigma Pi, Tyler is a Regent's Scholar, intern at FV Coluccio Construction Co., recruitment manager for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and project manager for Rainbow Warrior Racing (RWR). Tyler also recently began Master's work as a research assistant in the Hawaii Corrosion Laboratory (HCL) studying proprietary materials. During his free time, Tyler enjoys working with cars, being outdoors, and exploring new places.

My name is Alexa Young

Isaiah is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and plans to graduate Fall 2023. Isaiah graduated from Kalani High School in 2019 and pledged to Pi Tau Sigma in Spring 2022. Outside of school, Isaiah works as a field technician for Engineering Associates Inc. Isaiah also enjoys playing sports, especially basketball in his free time.

My name is Alexa Young

Linda is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Linda expects to receive her B.S. in Spring 2023, and she is also a part of the BAM program. Linda graduated from Moanalua High School in 2019 and pledged for Pi Tau Sigma in Fall 2021. She is currently working in design and construction at NAVFAC Pacific. Linda enjoys spending her free time watching dramas and exercising.

My name is Alexa Young

Jarrod is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and will be graduating in May 2023. Jarrod is a 2019 graduate of Moanalua High School and pledged for Pi Tau Sigma in the Fall of 2021. Currently, Jarrod works as an intern for the Hawaii Department of Transportation Materials Testing & Research Branch for the Highways Division. Jarrod spends his free time lifting weights, going out to eat, and hanging out with friends at the beach.

My name is Alexa Young

Olivia is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2023. Olivia graduated from Alameda High School in California before she moved to Hawaii to get her degree where she pledged Pi Tau Sigma in the Spring of 2022. She currently works as a tutor focusing on math and science for elementary through high school aged kids. In her free time, Olivia enjoys cooking and being outside.

ECUH Representative: Kenton Wong

My name is Alexa Young

Kenton is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and expects to graduate in the Spring of 2023. Kenton graduated from Moanalua High School in 2019 and decided to attend UH Manoa for his engineering degree. He pledged for Pi Tau Sigma in Fall 2021 and has been elected to serve as ECUH Representative for the Fall 2022 semester. Currently, Kenton is open to any career path and is interested in working at Pearl Harbor after college. Kenton's hobbies include practicing kung fu, lion dancing, and playing video games.

My name is Alexa Young

Lillian is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and plans to graduate Spring 2023. Lillian graduated from Moanalua High School in 2019 and pledged to Pi Tau Sigma in Fall 2022. Lillian works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Robot Autonomy and Navigation (RAN) Lab at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she writes code to run verification tests on the code being developed for a NASA funded project dealing with the control and operation of small satellites in orbit. Outside of school she likes to paint, cook, and hanging out with friends.

My name is Alexa Young

Evan is a senior pursuing a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and plans to graduate in Spring 2023. Evan graduated from Pearl City High School in 2019 and pledged for Pi Tau Sigma in Spring 2022. Evan works as a Cost Management intern for Rider Levett Bucknall, where he performs alternative cost studies and cost control throughout the design development, value engineering, and construction phases. Evan likes to spend his free time trying out new restaurants, hanging out with friends, and expanding his knowledge.
