About the Officers

Tysen Yahiku - President

Tysen is currently pursuing a Master's degree through the BAM program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is expected to graduate with his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in Spring 2025. Following his internship at NAVFAC Hawaii he decided to pursue research at the Hawaii Corrosion Lab where he hopes to acquire his Master's degree in Material Science with a concentration in Corrosion. Outside of school he likes to surf, hike, and spend time with friends.

Jason Kanemoto - Vice President

Jason is a senior pursing a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and plans to graduate in Spring 2025. Jason graduated from Henry M. Gunn Highschool in 2017 and pledged to Pi Tau Sigma in the Fall of 2024. On campus Jason is involved with 3D printing and robotics. In his free time Jason is often found surfing or at the beach.

Jason Kanemoto

Hwa-Jin Kwak - ECUH Representative

Hwa-Jin is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Pre-Health with plans to graduate in Spring 2025. She graduated from Kaimuki High School in the Fall of 2021 and pledged for Pi Tau Sigma in the Fall of 2023. Currently, she is a medical assistant at pediatric specialty clinics at Kapiolani Medical Center. During her internship at Rutgers University researching light-emitting nanoparticles for tumor imaging, Hwa-Jin decided to pursue research in cancer therapeutics. In her free time, she enjoys reading and taking walks while listening to true crime podcasts.

Wei Jie Cao - Co-Pledge Master

Weijie is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is expected to graduate in Spring 2025. Weijie graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2020 and pledged to the Pi Tau Sigma honor society in Spring 2024. Besides his education, Weijie enjoys playing tennis and fishing with friends.

Scott Yang

Scott Yang - Co-Pledge Master

Scott is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, currently in the BAM program, and plans to graduate Spring 2025. Scott graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2021, and joined Pi Tau Sigma in the Spring of 2024. He is currently doing undergraduate research in one of the labs at UH Manoa, and enjoys reading manga in his free time.

Adam Farin - Historian

Adam is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and plans to graduate in Spring 2025. Adam graduated from Kapolei High School in 2020 and pledged to Pi Tau Sigma in Spring 2024. While his internship with Nan Inc as a project engineer continues, he’s also participating in the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Program (Co-op). In his free time, Adam enjoys spending it with friends, listening to music, and tinkering with 3D printing

Camryn Calvo - Treasurer

Camryn is a bright and young aspiring mechanical engineering student who is well rounded in wellness and academics. Outside of academics, clubs, and Pi Tau Sigma, she enjoys fitness and painting. She plans to obtain her masters in aerospace to hopefully work for SpaceX in the future.

Wilson Lau - Secretary

Wilson Lau was born and raised on the island of Oahu, where he graduated from Kalani High school. He is currently a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Wilson enjoys hands-on projects and aspires to hone his skills in engineering design. In the future, Wilson is interested in finding ways to apply machine learning to various aspects of mechanical engineering. In his free time, Wilson enjoys volleyball, running, and spending time with family and friends.

Naava Simckes - Event Coordinator

Naava is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Pre-Health and plans to graduate in Spring 2025. She graduated from Clayton High School and pledged to Pi Tau Sigma in Spring 2024. On campus, Naava is an undergraduate research assistant, and outside of school, she enjoys spending her free time with her dog, reading, and traveling.
